1. Mohammed was not really persecuted in Mecca. He was thrown out of town because he told people not to worship the old gods. The weaker followers got killed.
2. He fled to Medinah. In 630 A.D. he went back to Mecca with his army and concoured Mecca.

1.Mohammed was thrown out of Mecca because he tried to teach monotonous. He fled to Medinah to carry on his teachings. In 624 mohammeds army attacked and conquered Medinah. They had another fight 627 which Mohammed won again. The war between Mecca and Medinah ended in 630.
